Brian D. Murphy

Brian Murphy represents commercial mortgage and national institutional lenders in multifamily real estate transactions, with a concentration in affordable housing transactions. His practice focuses on construction and permanent lending through the Freddie Mac TEL Program which utilizes tax-exempt bonds, low-income housing tax credits, Section 8 and other project-based rental assistance, state and local tax exemptions, multiple layers of public and private funding sources, and ground lease structures. He handles a variety of transaction-specific issues, including review of title, survey, regulatory and other transactional matters for compliance with Freddie Mac’s program requirements.

Brian earned his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law with a concentration in business and corporate law and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from The College of William and Mary, where he also competed as an intercollegiate swimmer. In his free time, he is an avid cyclist, runner, swimmer and surfer.
