Casi Walker represents commercial mortgage lenders in multifamily real estate transactions, including both market-rate and complex affordable transactions. Her practice focuses on acquisition financing, existing project refinancing and forward conversions, primarily through Fannie Mae MAH and MTEB programs and Freddie Mac TAH and TEL programs. She handles a variety of transaction-specific issues, such as bond financing, regulatory restrictions, LIHTC requirements, subordinate debt, HAP contracts, RAD conversions, ground leases, and tax abatements and assists her clients in ensuring compliance with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac program requirements.
Casi graduated from Harvard University where she earned an A.B. in History. She earned her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law where she was a member of the American University Law Review, a student attorney at the Janet R. Spragens Federal Tax Clinic, a Marshall-Brennan Teaching Fellow, and the captain of the American University Women’s Club Hockey Team. At graduation, she was honored with the Order of the Coif for her academic achievement. Casi served as a Law Clerk for Fannie Mae in 2009-2010.
