Affordable Housing & Community Development
Dedication. Principled Advocacy. Experience.
Our attorneys have extensive experience with affordable housing transactions around the country, having worked on thousands of transactions as counsel to underwriters, placement agents, borrowers, lenders and bond issuers.
Our legal team at Tiber Hudson has been involved in every major type of debt financing structure the affordable housing market has seen and has been instrumental in the creation and innovation of most of the financial, bond and loan structures being used in the marketplace today. These financings include FHA, Ginnie Mae, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Federal Home Loan Banks, municipal bond insurance, letters of credit, insurance company guarantees, short-term cash-backed bonds, and total return swap structures.
The majority of our practice involves affordable multifamily housing as well as single family housing, healthcare, education and other bond-financed transactions. In addition to legal degrees, most of our attorneys have backgrounds in business, tax, securities, investment and finance. This allows us to bring a comprehensive perspective to any transaction. Tiber Hudson also has extensive analytical capabilities including: cash flow analyses, rebate calculations, defeasance computations, yield proofs preparation, bankruptcy analysis and debt defeasance structuring. Our principal partners have over 20 years of experience working with the major rating agencies to hone rating methodologies and criteria. Our combined experiences provide us with a solid foundation to help clients navigate the complexities of affordable housing transactions.
