Sara K. Hayden

Sara Hayden is a transactional real estate attorney with a focus on affordable housing and community development finance. She currently represents institutional lenders, community development financial institutions, investors, and developers in the acquisition, financing, and syndication of real estate projects nationally that utilize the federal and state low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) and federal and state Historic Tax Credit (HTC).

Sara brings a breadth of legal and business experience in real estate and community development. Prior to joining Tiber Hudson, she represented LIHTC investors and syndicators in complex affordable housing developments. Her previous legal experience also includes representing developers, contractors, government entities, and nonprofits on a range of matters involving real estate, construction, land use, and historic preservation policy. She also has business experience in historic property redevelopment and community development, architectural design, and construction management. During her time as Director of Real Estate Development at a Washington, DC non-profit, she launched a community development program focused on the rehabilitation of vacant homes in Historic Anacostia, DC.

Sara earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Berkeley, where she also received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture with High Honors. She studied at Harvard Law School for a year through the Berkeley- Harvard Exchange program.

Sara loves old places, cooking and sharing great food, and exploring nature near and far.
